Speaker: Public Affairs Officer (PAO) Amanda Videll

This presentation is intended to provide attendees with information on emerging cyber threats by discussing common cyber related matters that are impacting businesses, local municipalities, and educational institutions.


Public Affairs Officer (PAO) Amanda Videll entered on duty with the FBI in 2015 and leads the communications program for the 40-county Jacksonville Division. In this role, she serves as the primary spokesperson for FBI-related matters in North Florida and works to develop key partnerships. Her mission is to provide the media and public with guidance on criminal threats and education on FBI operations and the federal justice system.

PAO Videll is appointed to the FBI’s National Press Office Media Fly Team, Deputy Director’s Social Media Working Group, and Community Outreach Advisory Committee. She also serves as Coordinator of the Florida Elections Public Affairs Working Group, which she founded in 2019 to combat public misinformation and disinformation campaigns targeting election security.

PAO Videll has received numerous commendations for her efforts to enhance public trust in the FBI, including being named the FBI Jacksonville Professional Support Employee of the Year (2016), and receiving multiple FBI Citations for Special Achievement (2017, 2019, 2020) and the FBI Medal of Excellence (2018). In 2020, she was awarded the United States Attorney’s Office Eagle Award for her response and contributions to the NAS Pensacola terror attack investigation.

PAO Videll has more than 25 years of experience in the communications industry including print, television, radio, and digital platforms. Prior to joining the Bureau, she was an Investigative Reporter for Cox Media, and a Digital Producer for The Florida Times Union and Jacksonville.com. She has also held positions in public relations, marketing, and film production.

PAO Videll is a three-time Emmy nominee and has received seven awards from the Florida Motion Picture and Television Association. She is a member of the Florida Crisis Response Team and the National Information Officers Association and serves on the advisory boards for the Florida State College of Jacksonville’s Public Safety Business and Industry Leadership Team, Jacksonville Broadcasters Association, Jacksonville Children’s Chorus, and is Vice Chair of the UNF Child Development Research Center.

PAO Videll holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication from the University of North Florida, and a Master of Arts in Digital Telecommunication from the University of Florida.
