IKO is a global leader in manufacturing roofing products with production facilities worldwide, we are currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team of skilled professionals based at our Clay Hill, FL plant. This plant produces premium roofing shingles and composite rolled roofing in a high speed, continuous, asphalt shingle manufacturing process environment. The successful candidate will be fully qualified and able to maximize plant performance and run time through maintenance and repair of equipment.


Maintenance Mechanic Position Summary

Key Responsibilities:

ï‚· Identifying and correcting all unsafe conditions and completing a safety assessment of all work prior to starting the job to support our "Zero Harm" Policy.

ï‚· Troubleshoot, monitor, adjust, maintain and repair manufacturing equipment and machinery throughout the production facility and complete necessary paperwork accurately and timely.

ï‚· Diagnose equipment operating issues and makes required repairs.

ï‚· Changes pumps, motors, conveyors and other components as needed.

ï‚· Works with other Mechanics and Electricians to resolve operational equipment issues.

ï‚· Operates forklift, scissor lift, boom lift and overhead crane when needed.

ï‚· Fabricate and weld tools or equipment when required.

ï‚· Operates precision machine tools to make or repair parts.

ï‚· Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.

ï‚· The position is subject to 24-hour call out; shift, weekend and overtime work.

ï‚· Responsibility & Accountability for being compliant with all IKO rules, policies and SOPs.

Skills & Qualifications:

ï‚· Proven experience working in and maintaining a Safe work environment with intimate knowledge of LOTO procedures and other safe practices.

ï‚· Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance or a Certified Industrial Mechanic or Millwright.

ï‚· Minimum of five years maintenance experience in a plant setting.

ï‚· Millwright skills, welding and machining experience preferred.

ï‚· Excellent working knowledge of appropriate use of hand tools and maintenance equipment.

ï‚· Ability to properly disassemble, clean, repair and reassemble complex mechanical devices such as gearboxes, pumps and motors.

ï‚· Ability to fabricate simple parts for corrective maintenance.

ï‚· Ability to read and understand detailed repair & instruction manuals.

ï‚· Must be able to work with computer based maintenance software.

ï‚· Possess superior analytical and troubleshooting skills.

ï‚· Must be able to safely lift and move up to 75 pounds on a routine basis.

ï‚· Must be able to access equipment for repair and maintenance, This may require crawling, bending, lying underneath equipment, crouching.

ï‚· Requires excellent manual dexterity.
