Marketing Director Summary:

The Marketing Director provides strategic leadership and hands-on execution of all marketing, branding, sales support, and outreach efforts at Penney Retirement Community.  This role is responsible for driving occupancy in support of Penney’s financial sustainability,

The Marketing Director collaborates closely with Administration, the Senior Management Team and resident leadership to ensure all marketing strategies reflect Penney’s mission, vision and continuum of care.

Is responsible for the overall operation of the marketing department, assigning task and oversight of the marketing assistant to ensure all task are completed in a timely manner with proficiency, and adheres to the requirement of Florida Statue 651.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop annual marketing plans, budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics in coordination with CEO and Senior Management Team.
• Become familiar with Chapter 651 regulations; ensuring all marketing related documents and disclosures are current and compliant.
• Manage all marketing communications, including website content, advertising, public campaigns, social media, print materials, advertising, and online inquires.
• Generate, edit, publish, and share engaging social media content (minimum weekly) across social media platforms.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare, housing, nonprofit, and advertising regulations.
• Monitor and respond appropriately to online reviews and social media engagements.
• Greet and engage prospective residents by phone, online and in person; providing accurate, timely information.
• Document community engagement through photography, video, and storytelling for marketing and development use.
• Work closely with Renovations Manger, Buildings and Grounds Manager and Chief Nursing Officer on all related marketing activity.
• Work closely with the resident Marketing Committee Chair in developing strategies for the Marketing Ambassador program and Penney Buddy programs.
• Keep current Renovation Report and hold weekly meetings with Senior Management where scope of work and renovation plans are discussed.
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate marketing assistant
• Assist incoming residents with selections and decisions as needed.
• Provide assistance during environmental or campus emergencies as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Communication:

• Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner at all times
• Participates actively with Senior Management and all staff meetings.
• Participate in marketing committee meetings, providing engaging content, marketing stats and strategies.
• Ability to effectively listen and communicate verbally and in writing.

Qualifications/Job Functions:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably in senior living, nonprofit organization
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and Google Analytics
• Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization
• Knowledge of Facebook’s advertising platform

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, and reach with arms.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to drive a golf cart.
• Ability to attend events and meetings, including occasional evenings or weekends.
